Participate individually or form a team that lets you focus on your strengths and interests. However you participate (or come as a spectator) there is much to do and see at the Chilli Challenge!

Bike: roughly 20 miles of back country roads through pastoral farmland and forested hills in Montour and Columbia Counties, PA
Paddle: 2.2 miles of Lake Chillisquaque
Run: 4.75 miles on the Chillisquaque and Ridgefield Point Trails, taking you through meadows, deep woodlands and internet viagra four bridge crossings

Categories and prizes for the race are as follows:

Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place finishers in each category

INDIVIDUALS – each individual bikes, paddles and runs. Men + Women
2-PERSON RELAY TEAM – One person bikes and paddles, the other paddles and runs. Men + Women + Coed
3-PERSON RELAY TEAM – One person bikes, one person paddles, and one person runs. Men + Women + Coed
4-PERSON TEAMS – Chilli Cup – All bike, all paddle and all run. Fastest combined time wins. ALL TEAMS MUST BE COED.

The following tips are offered to help both seasoned veterans and first-timers prepare for the ‘Chilli’.

Bikes:  A bit of a conundrum here.  Most people use road bikes.  The fastest times are turned in on road bikes.  However, please know that there are some dirt roads, rough patches and STEEP HILLS that might be tough for road bikes.

Paddle:  We allow any SAFE watercraft.  You MUST WEAR A PFD at all times while in your watercraft – no exceptions, no excuses.

Run:  Bring your best cross country sneakers or active hikers.  The course will be wood chips, gravel, mud, grass, roots, dirt, and some blacktop.

Misc:  You might want to bring layered clothes (it can be cold), rain gear, bike repair supplies, a change of clothes (can be a wait for the award ceremony if you are a early finisher) and some money (the Washingtonville Volunteer Fire Company provides support and food for the event.  Reward them and yourself by purchasing some food.  Don’t miss the hot chili!)
